Robert Stewart: Chairman

From directly across the water from Scotstoun, I first found my love of rugby at High School.  Only got to House level as, to be fair,  I was pretty rank.  Much better at Badminton, Table Tennis and Ludo! Much to the disappointment of my parents I opted for earning money rather than getting a further education.  Been working since leaving school in Civil Engineering, both Private and latterly Public Sector. Followed GHK, then Hawks before settling for Warriors from Hughenden days. Happy Season Ticket holder. Foolishly went to meeting of Xvith Warrior as curiosity got the better of me.  Proud to be Chair and that we continue to make a difference to the supporters both home and away. Love the game, team and the rugby nation.

Thomas Anderson : Vice Chairman                                                

Joined the Navy at 17 and stayed for 23 years, then on to the MOD as a Salvage Supervisor.  Followed Cartha QP before I joined the Navy and got to as many games as possible in between travel.  Started following Glasgow Warriors when they played at Firhill and then on to Scotstoun where I have a season ticket for the North Stand.  Managed to join the XVIth Warrior Committee when I wasn’t even at the meeting.  Enjoy the home games and all the travel involved in the away games

Beth Anderson: Treasurer

Loved watching Scotland games with my Dad when I was younger and was a regular at Cartha QP in my youth but mainly on the social side.  Started going to Glasgow Warrior games when they played at Firhill and then got a season ticket in the North Stand and the rest is history!  Love the travel involved in supporting the team and the home games at Scotstoun.  Management Accountant at Quarriers and before that Cashroom Manager at the same Law Centre as Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Stewart: Secretary

Been a Glasgow supporter since the Hughenden days and a member at Glasgow Hawks before that.  Went to Govan High School, not a school renowned for its rugby but managed to find my way to the true path eventually.  Left school to work for an investment management company where I was employed for 30 years.  Currently the Office Manager of a law centre in Glasgow.  Apart from work, rugby takes up most of time.

Gillian Frew: Assistant Treasurer I have been a rugby fan since my teens, getting to know "the ins and outs" of rugby through commentary from Bill McLaren on the 5 Nations.  Latterly I was keen to see what was happening in Scottish Rugby below the national team, hence I started going along to Glasgow and Edinburgh games.  I became a Glasgow Warriors season ticket holder in  2010. I enjoy "Friday night rugby" after a hectic week at work in the Health Service! I am also part of the Scottish Rugby Union's "Blue Crew" volunteering at international games helping enhance the match day experience.  I also took up playing rugby in 2017 and then in 2019 I undertook the Level 1 referee and am starting to referee up to 2nds.

Iain Papworth: Ordinary Board Member

No rugby in school for me, so I got into rugby socially. I’d watched rugby growing up & it was the 1991 World Cup that got me to take up the game. Played at Hamilton through under 18s & for a number of years with the seniors. During that time I was also a qualified youth coach. It was always a bit strange playing in the same team as those that I’d previously coached.  My rugby playing days may be well behind me but I still love the camaraderie that you get with the rugby community. It’s something that is hard to match. Having taken advantage of the fabulous events & meet ups that the XVIth Warrior have arranged, I felt it right to get involved & help out. After all you get back what you put in.

Paul Phillips: Ordinary Board Member  

Played rugby at bit at school but after leaving I played American Football; at least the ball was the right shape and then fell away from the game.  In 2000 a friend at work asked me to go to the see the Caley Reds.  I had never heard of them but head over to Hughenden and watched them beat Cross Keys and that was me hooked on rugby.  I have been really impressed with the work of the XVith Warrior and hope to be able to continue this.

Siobhan McKinnon: Ordinary Board Member

I fell in love with rugby during the 2011 Rugby World Cup.  My first ever away game was to Dublin to watch the first Leinster versus Glasgow final, then boom I was part of the "East Stand Massive".  I love every minute of spending time with my rugby family so couldn't wait to become part of the XVith Warrior to help contribute to everyone's match day experience.

Martin Clarke:  Ordinary Board member 

I had been following rugby back and forth since around 2007 where me and friends used to choose an autumn test and a 6 nations match every year to go to for a day out. For a change we decided to take a trip to Scotstoun for a match back in 2013 and have been hooked ever since. Nothing beats a bit of Friday night lights at a packed Scotstoun, the atmosphere is second to none. The friendships, the camaraderie and the away trips in particular have been amazing and long may it continue.

 

Out with rugby, you can easily find me playing badly on a golf course.

Rachel Blyth:  Co-opted member 

I have been a Glasgow Warriors fan for a long time now and I am a season ticket holder in the West stand! I work as a customer advisor for a livestock nutrition company. My only away game so far has been our Champions Cup game to Sale Sharks in January 2019 and loved every minute of it. I attend all home games for Glasgow and try to get to most Scotland home games too. I am glad to be apart of the XVITH Warrior and feel I can bring so much into the great group that has already been formed.
